Transpersonal Art and Dance Therapy

and

Transpersonal art and dance therapy to help you navigate life’s challenges, feel empowered in being you and clearer about your brilliance and your path.

Fiona Haasz

Arts Therapist Melbourne & Mornington Peninsula

I love to celebrate the strengths and gifts of my clients, and support their innate ‘knowing’, through the creative processes we engage in together.

Whether or not you have been given a mental health or neurodiverse related diagnosis, is not the focus. The focus is always about meeting you from a place of seeing you as perfect as you are, right now, in this moment.

My approach is intuitive, playful and sincere, with an underpinning stemming from the transpersonal paradigm: a holistic, client-centred approach which is open to all aspects of your lived experience, from spiritual to practical life-challenges.

Where appropriate, I draw upon my own personal experiences in my work with clients. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD, at the ripe age of 49! I also have experienced family and pregnancy/birth related trauma. I believe the gifts of these experiences are an added ability to hold space for your journey through your own experiences. I am very inspired by the work of Dr. Gabor Maté.

My entire background contributes to how I’m able to ‘hold space’ for your journey, including working in remote Aboriginal communities, studying and practicing Breathwork, Women’s Mysteries, African dance and percussion, Body-Mind Centring, Contact improvisation, Pranic Healing, Australian Bush Flower Essences, Tao Hands Spirituality and Blessings, Teaching, Multidisciplinary Art Practice and Law.

What does an Art Therapy
session look like?

Our sessions will be unique to you, in the moment, as I work intuitively and spontaneously, capturing what is needed each time we meet, whether it be in person or online.

At times we will draw together on the same page or on our own pages. At other times you may draw and I may witness you silently. There may be times where I will play music while you engage in movement on a ball, or paint.

Guided visualisation might be what is needed. Or it might become playful and we might take it turns in an activity.

There may be laughter. There may be tears. They may be conversation. There may be silence.

Please note: There is absolutely no need to be ‘good at art’ or any other creative activity.

Art Therapy Session Duration

Art Therapy sessions are for 1 hour normally but sometimes longer sessions are sought too.

Art Therapy Session Location

Appointments are usually held at our Frankston office. They can also be held online, at your home, or at another location (such as the beach or park if that is beneficial for you).
